Governance for Good - A Guide for Board Members

Created: November 29, 2018 at 3:38 PM | Updated: August 16, 2022 | By NZ Navigator Trust

Being a board member of a charity can be a very positive experience. It can give you the opportunity to make a real difference in your community, but it also comes with responsibilities. For you and your charity to succeed, you should be aware of your responsibilities and your role in helping your charity achieve its goals.

The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) is the national regulator of Australian charities. They have produced a guide that focuses on good governance, the practices and procedures, roles of board members etc.  Much of the advice applies in a New Zealand environment as well.
