Community Accounting Programme

Created: July 13, 2025 at 1:16 PM | Updated: July 15, 2025 | By NZ Navigator Trust

Does your community organisation require accounting assistance?

The Community Accounting programme is a service for small community groups (including charitable trusts, incorporated societies and registered charities) across New Zealand who require accounting assistance.

What assistance is offered?

Senior accountancy students from Massey University assist with your organisation’s accounting needs under the supervision of Chartered Accountants, either in-person or via Zoom. They can:

  • help you to understand the accounting and financial responsibilities of your Board and the role of the Treasurer in your organisation
  • help you work out how to record and account for income and expenditure and
  • recommend cost-effective accounting software to report to your Board and other external organisations including the Companies Office and Charities Services.

The Community Accounting programme is a collaborative partnership between:

  • Auckland North Community and Development (ANCAD)
  • Massey University
  • Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ).
