Marae Kete - toolkit for Marae

Marae Kete helps address the practicalities of administering Marae.

This online resource was commissioned following requests by Tangata Whenua to Western Bay of Plenty District Council to develop a toolkit to help the volunteers in the district who manage governance at a Marae level

Designed by Māori – for Māori, Marae Kete has four sections:

  • Iwi (People)
  • Mahi Whakahaere (Operations)
  • Waahi (Place) and 
  • Rauemi (Resources).

 

There is guidance on many kaupapa including Civil Defence Emergency plans  and Health and Safety plans.
