Board Skills Matrix

Created: February 13, 2025 at 1:33 PM | Updated: February 13, 2025 | By Parry Field Lawyers

What skills should your governance team have?

What skills do your current board have?

Are there any skill gaps?

The link below takes you to the board skills matrix - download it, use the matrix as a template or starting point, and personalise it to your organisation.

Each board member self-evaluates using a scale of 0 to 3 with:

0 = no experience

1 = some experience

2 = experienced

3 = expert

Tip:  It's a good idea to not make your skills matrix too long or detailed! Stick to the skills that cover key areas for your board.
